PCGS authenticated and graded AU 58. Very attractive frosty light to medium brown.
Just a few trivial marks including some microscopic ticks on the jaw, a tiny rim nick over the right side of star 6, and a speck of darker toning at the top of the N in CENT. Just a light touch of friction on the highpoints of the devices. Very scarce EDS, die state a, with repunching clearly visible below the 1 and fine diagonal die lines from the dentils below the 54. A nice example of a tough die state, the best EDS business strike example that Jack Wadlington was able to find when he built the spectacular Twin Leaf Collection. Previously removed from a PCGS slab graded MS62BN.Ex McCawley & Grellman Auctions 7/31/1993:393-Dale Anderson, McCawley & Grellman Auctions 9/13/1997:351-Jack Wadlington (The Twin Leaf Collection), Stack's Bowers 7/16/2015:2671 - John Davis Collection.
